Verstappen Disqualified From Sim Race For Taking Brutal Revenge On A Rival

Posted on July 16, 2023 | by Charley Williams Oh dear, Max. Many F1 drivers like to kick back and relax on their weeks off from F1, but Max Verstappen just likes to continue racing, albeit virtually, and the drama just follows him ???? This weekend, Max decided he didn’t like the way one of his rivals were racing him, so took his own path of justice.  Yeah, doesn’t sound great, does it? But in fairness, the other guy pushed Max off first. Verstappen quite often spends his time away from track taking part in online sim racing events, and this weekend he was competing in the iRacing Golden Toast GP, a three-hour event using GT3 cars at iconic venue Spa. All was going well, but near-half distance into the race, it all started to unravel. As a group of cars, including Verstappen, approached the La Source hairpin, racer Sven-Ole Haase hit the back of Verstappen, which sent both Verstappen and his Team Redline team-mate Diogo Pinto, to spin. Essentially ruining their race, Max decides to get his revenge. After getting himself back up to speed behind the same group of cars as they drove through Eau Rouge/Raidillon and along the Kemmel Straight, on the approach to Le Combes, it was clear that Max had something up his sleeve as he zoomed through the escape area. As the camera panned to Verstappen, the commentator said: “It’s going to be ugly, just give it a sec. Just wait, just wait…” And in that moment, Verstappen got up right behind Haase and rammed into the back of him, sending both of them into the gravel and his rival into the barriers. Verstappen was immediately black-flagged and disqualified from the race. Oops. Do you think Max should have retaliated in this way? Let us know in the comments!
