GT America Takes on Water in Nashville

Practice One Results A rainy morning in Nashville pushed the start time of the first practice session. The rain slowed to a light fall with small puddles scattered around the 2.1-mile, 11-turn course. Drivers and teams were met with a shortened session of 10 minutes to get a feel for the newly paved portions and reacquaint themselves with tight turns. The pack was led by the SRO3 Class entry of Jason Daskalos in the No. 27 GMG Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3, with the No. 099 Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Robb Holland marching the GT4 Class around the circuit. Daskalos' best lap time of 1:42.731 was followed up by Johnny O’Connell in his No. 3 SKI Autosports Audi R8 LMS with a 1:44.221. Mirco Schultis was the third fastest in the SRO3 Class. His No. 70 MISHUMOTORS Corvette C7 GT3-R clocked a 1:44.758.  Holland, who won both races in 2022, turned a lap time of 1:46.855. Jason Bell in the No. 2 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 wasn’t too far behind with a best lap time of 1:47.516. Rounding out the top three of the GT4 Class was Ross Chouest in the No. 50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 with a lap time of 1:50.883. Practice Two is scheduled to take the green flag at 5:30 p.m. under dry conditions. Practice Two is the final practice session of the weekend with Saturday, Aug. 5 kicking off with qualifying at 11:55 a.m. Race One is the highly anticipated night race set for a 7:05 p.m. start time.
