GT America Meets the Road America for Final Third

28 Entries Headline SRO Sprint GT Championship at Road America Daskalos, Chouest Lead Championship HuntEntry List  GT America powered by AWS, rejoins the SRO Motorsports America collective for two rounds of racing at Road America Aug. 18-20. The series joins the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, Pirelli GT4 America, TC America powered by Skip Barber and Toyota GR Cup North America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.  Fans have amenities abound at Road America. Nestled next to Elkhart Lake the 4.048-mile, 14-turn course has campsites and cabins for race fans to enjoy with hiking and bike trails carved through the infield and a go-kart track tucked next to the back straight. The three days of on-track activity is complimented with driver autograph sessions on Saturday, Aug. 19 and Sunday, Aug. 20. The GT America autograph session occurs Sunday at 10:30 a.m.  The weekend festivities kick off with the annual GT Parade and Welcome Party on Thursday evening. Series racecars will make the journey from Road America to downtown Elkhart Lake at 5pm for a spectacle on the streets of the Village. Meet the stars and cars of SRO America at Siebkens and enjoy live music, free swag, and Spotted Cow.  SRO3 Class A field of 17 makes up the SRO3 Class at Road America. An abbreviated grid at the Music City Grand Prix gave select drivers a points advantage headed into the Road America weekend. Jason Daskalos in the No. 27 CRP Racing Mercedes-AMG took over the lead from Memo Gidley in the No. 101 TKO Motorsports Mercedes-AMG. A mere three points separate the two in the Driver Points Standings.  George Kurtz in the No. 04 CrowdStrike by Riley Mercedes-AMG sits third with 135 points, and Anthony Bartone in the No. 427 RealTime Racing Mercedes-AMG is fourth with 97 points. Johnny O’Connell took home a win in Nashville giving him a boost to sit fifth in the No. 3 SKI Autosports Audi R8 LMS, one point behind Bartone. Todd Treffert remains sixth in the points standings, collecting 86 points in total with his street course run.  Adam Adelson has dipped slightly in the points standings as he is now seventh. He is only four points behind Treffert and has a cushion of 18 points back to Andy Wilzoch in the No. 460 Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R. James Sofronas returns to the grid in the No. 14 GMG Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 with three points separating him and Alex Vogel who his 11th in the standings with 45 points. Kyle Washington will join his teammate on grid in the No. 32 GMG Porsche 911 GT3-R.  The No. 011 Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Marc Austin is back in action. He last joined the series at Circuit of the Americas. DXDT Racing brings duo Jeff Burton and Scott Smithson back to the track.  New to the grid are teammates Amir Haleem and Brian Lock. Haleem will pilot the No. 66 CDR Valkyrie Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 while Lock is behind the wheel of the No. 86 CDR Valkyrie Acura NSX GT3 EVO22.  GT4 Class The GT4 class will have a field of 11 at Road America. Ross Chouest in the No. 50 Chouest Povoledo Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 and Jason Bell in the No. 2 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 will get back to dueling for the lead; nine points separate the two. Robb Holland gained ground in Nashville winning both races at the Music City Grand Prix. However, he remains third in the points standings but whittled the gap to second place down to 14 points. The GT4 Class has the option to drop rounds, which will also rework the layout for Holland.  Gray Newell in the No. 25 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 stayed in place in the points standings, sitting in fourth. He’s followed by Tony Gaples and his No. 5 Blackdog Speed Shop Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R whom Elias Sabo is currently hunting in the No. 8 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4. Nicholas Shanny continues his focus as he aims to build momentum off the back of Nashville. A few faces return to the grid including Tim Savage with TRG in the No. 009 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 and John Roberts in the No. 11 Fast Track Racing BMW M4 GT4. Three new faces join the field. Scott Blind will drive the No. 045 Archangel Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4, GMG will pair Todd Parriott with an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 and Brady Behrman will make the move from Pirelli GT4 America in the No. 428 van der Steur Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4.
