Susie Wolff Wants Answers As She Calls Out Lack Of ‘Accountability’ in FIA Case

Posted on December 8, 2023 | by Charley Williams The FIA may have said their investigation into the conflict of interest allegations made against Susie and Toto Wolff was over, but if you thought that would be the last you hear of this situation, you were very much mistaken ???? The FIA released a statement just yesterday evening revealing they were no longer looking into Toto and Susie Wolff, confirming they were satisfied that F1’s compliance management system was robust enough to “prevent any unauthorised disclosure of confidence information”. Susie’s first response: “Is that it?” This came after there were concerns raised over what information was being shared between a member of Formula One Management and an F1 team principal, later acknowledged as referring to Susie and Toto. Mercedes, F1, and Susie Wolff released statements in response to the shock investigation, strongly denying any allegations made against them. All remaining nine F1 teams then released statements to deny they had complained to the FIA with such concerns that triggered the investigation. Though the FIA attempted to draw a line under the matter with their statement, Susie has now responded, calling out the lack of accountability in the process. She said on social media: “When I saw the statement issued by the FIA yesterday evening, my first reaction was: ‘Is that it?’ “For two days, insinuations have been made about my integrity in public and through background briefings, but nobody from the FIA has spoken to me directly. “I might have been collateral damage in an unsuccessful attack on somebody else or the target of a failed attempt to discredit me personally, but I have worked too hard to have my reputation called into question by an unfounded press release.” She thanks the F1 teams for their unified support and continued: “This episode has so far taken place without transparency or accountability. I have received online abuse about my work and my family. “I will not allow myself to be intimidated and intend to follow up until I have found out who has instigated this campaign and misled the media. What happens this week is simply not good enough. “As a sport, we must demand, and we deserve better.” Following this, Mercedes released a statement attributed to Toto Wolff, who confirmed the team are “currently in active legal exchange with the FIA” and would not be commenting any further on the matter for now – but will do so in due course.
