These Are The Six Races Hosting F1 Sprint Events In 2024

F1 and the FIA are keen to make Sprint events work despite them dividing fan opinion. But we must say, now we know the list of venues hosting them for 2024… it’s certainly piqued our interest ???? So far, Sprint events have been held at circuits like Silverstone and Monza, as well as the Red Bull Ring, Imola and Interlagos. This year, they threw Baku, Spa-Francorchamps, Qatar and Austin into the mix, which all caused chaos in different ways. Four of this year’s sprint hosts will again feature the format in their 2024 races. But the FIA have added two we haven’t had before ???? We’ll be seeing Sprint races at the following races: Chinese Grand Prix Miami Grand Prix Austrian Grand Prix United States Grand Prix Brazilian Grand Prix Qatar Grand PrixAnd there’s potential for a switch-up in format, too. The Race has reported that reversing part of the grid for the sprint races is still under discussion. F1 confirmed that “there was overall support for an update to the Sprint Format for 2024 to further rationalise the weekend by separating Sprint activities from those for the grand prix.” This is understood as qualifying for the sprint moving to Friday, and the sprint race taking place on Saturday before qualifying for the grand prix later that day. The final proposal will be presented to the F1 Commission in January. Brazil and Austria can always be counted on to provide a good sprint race. Qatar gave Oscar Piastri his first (kind of) F1 win in 2023. And, with F1 having not visited China since 2019, we deserve to see two races take place at the incredible Shanghai circuit – while Miami could surprise us! Austin?
