Mick Schumacher Reached Out To An Old F1 Friend For Advice On WEC Seat

SMICK! SMICK! SMICK! Can you believe It’s been an entire year since Sebastian Vettel retired from F1? Coincidentally, that was also Mick Schumacher’s last race with Haas, as he was dropped by the team and went on to become a reserve driver at Mercedes for this season.  But yesterday, it was announced that Mick will race in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) for Alpine next season whilst remaining as Mercedes reserve for a second year in 2024. He will drive the Alpine’s A425 hypercar, which will debut in 2024 and said: “I sorely missed racing this year. It’s what I’ve loved to do since I was a kid, and it was sometimes difficult to watch the other drivers take to track.” But whilst excited for a fresh challenge after driving single-seaters his entire life, it was a decision he needed some advice on. So, who better to go to than Sebastian Vettel? Their friendship was one of the best we’ve seen in recent years, both on and off track it was just wonderful to watch. There was no chance they would stop being such good friends when they left the grid, and any little antidote of their friendship, we take in full stride. It just warms your heart, doesn’t it? He told media, including The Race on Thursday in Abu Dhabi: “I’ve briefly spoken with Sebastian about it. “I mean, obviously, this has been a factor, he knows so much about motorsport that it was also a very clear point for me to go and ask him about his opinion about this”, and revealed he was fully supportive of Mick’s decision ???? Maybe Seb will take a trip to support Mick at one of the races next year!
