The Plot Thickens As Hamilton Claims HE Was Approached By Horner First

Someone here isn’t quite telling the truth. We have absolutely no idea which one it is, but Christian Horner and Lewis Hamilton cannot both be right. Honestly, our brains hurt.  On Wednesday afternoon, the Daily Mail released an exclusive interview with Christian Horner that revealed talks were held earlier this year with Lewis Hamilton, whose team had reached out to him about joining Red Bull. That would mean Lewis and Max Verstappen as teammates. Admittedly, that would be rather interesting, but Horner said: “I can’t see Max and Lewis working out together. The dynamic wouldn’t be right. We are 100 per cent happy with what we have.” Insinuating that they turned Hamilton down. Of course, nothing is ever that simple in Formula 1, and Lewis has laid down the ultimate uno reverse card, telling media in Abu Dhabi that Christian had actually reached out to him first! ???? He first denied ever holding talks with Red Bull to Sky Sports F1: “I don’t really know where that story’s come from. Well, I mean, I know it’s come from Christian. I don’t really understand what he’s been talking about because no one, as far as I’m aware, from my team has spoken to him.” He accused him of just “stirring things” and said, “You know Christian, he loves that kind of stuff.” ???? But then later on, talking to the media, including The Race, he admitted: “I’ve checked with everyone on the team, and no one’s spoken to them. But they [Red Bull] have tried to reach out to us. “Basically, I picked up my old phone, which I just found at home that had my old number on it, and I switched it on, and obviously [I had] hundreds of messages come through. “I realised one of them was from Christian [saying] to get together and have a chat at the end of the season.” Lewis said he responded with a “congratulations on the amazing season” message, and that was that… So much for a nice and peaceful last race of the season, huh?
