It’s Been Years Since Williams Have Had Both Of Their Drivers This High Up

If you haven’t watched qualifying yet, we know what you’re thinking: ‘Oh, I wonder where Alex Albon qualified…’ But actually, his teammate Logan Sargeant was right up there with him, and we are thrilled for the team! ???? The pair made Q3 together for the second time this season, with the Williams car suiting the layout of the track incredibly well. Though a good performance was expected, we’re not sure they thought a third-row lockout was on the cards! It’s the first time in seven years that both Williams drivers have qualified in the top six, the last being the 2016 Russian GP, where Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa put their cars in P3 and P5. And, for just a small moment, we thought that Logan may have had the upper hand on Alex, but in the end, Albon extended his streak of never having been out-qualified by his teammate at Williams – though this was among the closest they have been in terms of pace this season. Whether the Williams boys will be able to hold off those behind them on race day is another question, but they are feeling confident that the long straights and colder temperatures work in their favour. Sargeant told media, including The Race, that he was a “very happy boy.” He continued: “Especially to execute over three different sessions, finally a track with potential that we’ve had, yeah, to do it here in Vegas is extra-special. “And I think highlighted by the fact we have a great car here. It’s not easy to deliver on that performance, so the fact we were able to do that continuously throughout the whole qualifying session is awesome.” Albon shared similar sentiments: “Yes, very happy!” ???? Where can they finish in tomorrow’s Las Vegas GP?
