Ricciardo Perfectly Summed Up His Brazil Sprint With Explosive Post-Race Radio

Posted on November 4, 2023 | by Charley Williams Formula 1 couldn’t actually broadcast much of Daniel Ricciardo’s post-sprint radio because it was absolutely full of *beeps!* ???? After starting P8 in the Sprint, the AlphaTauri looked to have a good amount of pace, but the “f*****g DRS” zone became a bit of a sore talking point for Ricciardo.  A fierce battle between Ricciardo and Carlos Sainz soon broke out, and for a long time, it looked as though Ricciardo would have the better of Sainz, but the DRS detection points at the São Paulo circuit had other ideas. Lap by lap, Daniel pulled off a beautiful overtake around the outside of Carlos, heading into turn 1. But as soon as DRS was detected going into turn 2, it pushed the pair to switch back positions on the straight and into turn 4. Eventually, Ricciardo’s new set of soft tyres started to fall away, and it became more difficult to catch Sainz – though they did fight all the way to the chequered flag, finishing just 0.2s away from each other.
