We Have A Release Date For The Brawn GP Documentary And We Can’t Wait

Posted on October 16, 2023 | by Dre Harrison It’s an expansive time for F1 and the media, with many of its stories getting more airtime than ever, and now we finally have a release date for Disney’s next big splash within the Sport – Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story! The four-part documentary series will be debuting on Disney+’s streaming platform and promises “previously unseen footage” from F1’s archives! For those who don’t know, the series will focus on the rise of Brawn GP, who pulled off a nearly unthinkable comeback in 2009, when former F1 team principal and FOM Director Ross Brawn bought the remains of Honda’s team for just a pound when the Japanese manufacturer pulled out of the sport, a direct result of the global financial crisis. It’s why the car’s become one of the most recognisable liveries in modern F1, due to its lack of sponsors! Not to give too much away, but safe to say the 2009 car that Honda developed, with a now infamous double-diffuser setup, was a surprisingly fast car once it rolled off the production line! The show also promises interviews with Sky Sports pundit Jenson Button (Who had a decent season), then teammate Rubens Barrichello, Ross Brawn himself, Brawn’s technical director at the time Nick Fry, and is narrated and presented by Hollywood megastar, all-round petrolhead and lovable guy, Keanu Reeves! November 15th, 2023 is the release date on Disney+, and we can’t wait to see how it turns out!  Are you going to be watching?
