Zak Brown Was Among The Drivers Testing McLaren’s F1 Car In Barcelona

McLaren CEO Zak Brown has quite the car collection, it boasts some of the world’s most classic and remarkable machines. Many of them include McLaren’s throughout the years, but what is the use in owning them if you can’t drive them? ????  To give you an idea of how incredible his collection is, he owns the McLaren-Honda MP4/6 from 1991 driven by Ayrton Senna, Mike Hakkinen’s McLaren-Mercedes MP4/16, as well as Lewis Hamilton’s 2012 McLaren MP4/27. We can’t forget the Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet Monte Carlo, as raced by the NASCAR legend in 1984. He allowed Daniel Ricciardo to drive this car at the 2021 United States GP – a deal agreed upon if he won a race with the team. McLaren is currently in Barcelona for a closed private test as part of their driver development programme, both Pato O’Ward and Rio Hirakawa have completed laps in the 2021 McLaren. But someone we weren’t expecting to step into a car was McLaren’s own Zak Brown. But hey, being the boss has to have some perks, right? In a recent segment with Sky Sports F1, he was complimented on his physical shape by the presenters, and he replied telling them his motivation was to fit into his race cars. Clearly, it worked! The team tweeted a photo of Zak in his MCL35M, still dressed in its sponsors from 2021 and Daniel Ricciardo’s driver number – which we assume is Ricciardo’s winning Monza car. Funnily enough, James Vowles also took to the Snetterton race circuit with Garage 59 to drive some GT3 and GT4 cars. Okay, we have two questions: 1. can we organise a team boss grand prix? and 2. we really want to know their lap times! Which F1 team boss do you think would be the fastest in an F1 car?
