Lance Stroll Addresses Incident That Followed ‘Frustrating’ Q1 Exit

Well, the time has come to address the rather big elephant in the room, and, well, Lance seems quite relaxed about the whole thing.  If you happened to miss the drama… On Friday’s Qatar GP qualifying session, Lance Stroll suffered his fourth consecutive Q1 exit. Clearly frustrated, when he returned to the Aston Martin garage, he threw his steering wheel out of his car and proceeded to get out. He was approached by his performance engineer, Henry Howe, who gestured towards the front of the garage, reportedly asking Stroll that he needed to go and get weighed first. Stroll, however, had other ideas. Footage showed Stroll bursting past Howe and shoving him out of the way. The video clip gained a lot of media attention, and the situation was yet to be addressed – until now. Talking to the media after the Sprint, including The Race, Lance was asked what was going through his mind in that moment, he said: “Yeah. Frustrated. “We’re in a rut and… yeah, it’s not getting better and… yeah, frustration is just in the whole group right now – we want to do better, we want to get better, but it’s just a struggle right now.” Contrary to what many fans believe, Stroll insists he does still want to be in F1: “Yeah, for sure – I’m just struggling with the car and just getting to grips with the balance, that I’m just not able to extract performance from it right now, which is just difficult, frustrating.” He was then probed about his relationship with his trainer and whether the air was fully cleared. He replied: “We’re good.” Asked once again about whether all was okay between him and Henry, he responded: “We’re good. He’s a bro. We go through the frustration together, and we ride together, so… we’re cool.” Interestingly, when asked whether he would change his approach to dealing with frustration, he laughed and said: “I f***ing hate having a bad day!” ????
