F1 Drivers Get Creative As Sebastian Vettel Launches “Buzzin’ Corner” Scheme

As mentioned earlier this week, Suzuka is a track that has always meant a lot to Sebastian Vettel. He won his second F1 championship there back in 2011, as well as getting an emotional send-off from the Japanese fans in his final Japanese GP last year. But he’s back! For a very different reason – his latest biodiversity project, known as “Buzzin’ Corner”. Seb has been in Japan for a couple of days and has helped build 11 bee hotels inside the first sector of the famous track. The track has also repainted the Turn 2 kerbs the yellow and black colours of the bee, an animal Seb famously has a connection to via custom helmet designs and merchandise.   The project was launched on Thursday afternoon, and all drivers and teams were in attendance. Vettel showed them how the bee hotels work and how to create nests for them.  Each team has one ‘hotel’ at Buzzin’ Corner, and the drivers were given paint and an easel to sign and create beautiful artwork. Many of the teams have shared their masterpieces – here are some of our favourites! Seb’s continued push for environmental awareness, one of the many causes he champions, is wonderful to see!
