McLaren Have Another Very Big Upgrade For Singapore

EXCITING! ???? McLaren have arrived at the iconic Marina Bay circuit with their most significant upgrade since Austria – and we all know how that turned out – with Lando Norris calling it the biggest turnaround F1 has seen for some time.  McLaren spent much of the first half of the season towards the back of the grid, unable to fight for points. But then, their Austria upgrade arrived. A heavily revised MCL60 then went on to secure podiums at the British GP and the Hungarian GP for Norris, as well as fighting for pole position, and Oscar Piastri also took P2 in the sprint race at Spa. Now, they are fifth in the championship and eager to catch up with Aston Martin, who have been struggling lately. On Thursday Lando warned: “Obviously, we’ve not run it on the track yet. And so we kind of don’t say too much until we’ve actually got it to work properly, but yeah, a good step.” And he also called it “some small things”. Then the FIA released the full list of new parts, and here’s what McLaren have brought: – Front Wing Endplate  – Sidepod Inlet (new shape) – Halo  – Floor Body (fully revised floor) – Coke/Engine Cover (reshaped sidepod and engine cover) – Rear Corner – Rear Suspension – Rear Wing Endplate – Beam Wing As you can see, that’s not too small. It’s very much focused on improving aerodynamic load and aiding airflow conditions over the car. This weekend, their latest upgrade package will only be run on Lando’s car, with Piastri expected to receive the parts at next week’s Japanese GP. Through Friday’s practice sessions, Norris finished P4 and P6, with Ferrari topping both timesheets. Will the upgrades prove more fruitful during qualifying and the race itself? We’re excited to see where these new upgrades could lead! ????
