Toto Wolff Made A Spicy Remark About Red Bull’s Record-Breaking Success

Posted on September 4, 2023 | by Charley Williams This weekend has felt like we’re watching an episode of The Kardashians with the Red Bull and Mercedes drivers (and now Team Principals!) dishing out the odd spicy comment against their ‘rivals’. It’s 2021 all over again! ???? We’ve already had Episode 1, which featured Lewis Hamilton calling out Max Verstappen for having an easy ride to his world championships by not being challenged by any of his teammates during his current dominant era. Max Verstappen then responded to those comments, accusing Lewis of being “jealous” of his success and stating that Mercedes is having “a very hard time dealing with losing” at the moment. Now, onto Episode 2, with Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner weighing in on the subject. After the Italian GP, he was asked about Hamilton’s remarks. Horner told the media, including The Race: “I don’t want to get drawn into commenting on that. “I think that you know, Max, what he’s doing, he’s breaking records, he’s driving at an unreliable level, and I don’t think there’s anybody in the world right now that could beat Max Verstappen in this car, that’s for sure.” But it doesn’t stop there, Toto Wolff was feeling particularly spicy after the race, and when he was asked about Max’s achievements, he told Sky Sports F1: “I mean, our situation was maybe a little bit different because we had two guys fighting against each other within the team. “I don’t know whether he cares about the records, it’s not something that would be important for me any of those numbers,” he then jokes, “It’s for Wikipedia, nobody reads that anyway.” Jokes on you, Toto, we love a bit of light Wikipedia reading on a Sunday afternoon! ????
