Verstappen Accuses Hamilton Of ‘Jealousy’ As He Bites Back At Bold Claim

After being left slightly speechless at Lewis Hamilton’s bold claims against Max Verstappen, we knew it wouldn’t take long for Max to respond to the comments himself.  Max has accused Lewis of being “jealous” of his success. On Friday, in an interview with Sky Sports Italy, Hamilton claims the two-time world champion, Verstappen, hasn’t had the challenge of racing against top-tier teammates during his dominant era. He said: “In my personal opinion, Valtteri [Bottas], and actually all my teammates, have been stronger than the teammates that Max has had.  “You know, Jenson [Button], Fernando [Alonso], George [Russell], Valtteri, Nico [Rosberg]. You know, all these guys have all been very strong, very consistent, and Max is not racing against anyone like that.”  Lewis also mentioned that he feels he wasn’t given the same credit for outperforming those teammates mentioned and that Max’s dominance is “blown up much more.” In response to these claims, Max told Dutch media, as translated by RacingNews365: “Maybe he’s a little jealous of my current success. This kind of statement… he possibly thinks he’s winning something with that, but it makes no difference to me. “I think Mercedes have a very hard time dealing with losing after all these years of winning so much. “At some point, you have to be realistic, and then you have to be able to appreciate what other teams are doing. We did the same when they were dominant, and we also said, ‘We have to work harder because we are not good enough.’ “You can keep shouting and screaming that what we do is not that special… you just have to deal with yourself.” ???? We probably won’t have to wait long for Lewis to respond to these comments!
