McLaren And VELO Revealed The Ultimate Fan-Focused Design At The Dutch GP

VELO and the McLaren Formula 1 Team gave a whole new meaning to fan interaction by revealing a unique bespoke branding used for the Dutch GP, which featured fans’ names to make up the word ‘LOVE’ on both MCL60s ????  Imagine telling your friends that your name has been featured on a Formula 1 car, and even better, it actually raced around a circuit. Definitely not jealous. So many parts of Formula 1 spark excitement, but according to a global survey by VELO, almost 1 in 3 fans chose the car as their favourite part of the sport. So, in honour of McLaren’s 60th anniversary, VELO and McLaren launched an exclusive competition for fans to win the ultimate prize – their name on the MCL60. In June, VELO released the findings of its global motorsport fan survey, revealing that only 25% of those surveyed think motorsport teams do enough for their fans.  With a wave of new motorsport fans joining the community, it’s no surprise that 38% of fans surveyed confirmed they are reaching out for more events and activities. VELO heard fans’ requests loud and clear! This unique fan-led experience is just one way both companies have chosen to show their commitment to putting their fans first, understanding what drives them and rewarding their incredible support ???? VELO’s Love The Unexpected campaign is all about shining a spotlight and celebrating motorsport fans and their unexpected stories. The competition was a massive success amongst the Formula 1 community, with 5,699 entries in 9 days. One of the 60 fans even won the opportunity to be flown out to Zandvoort for an exclusive VELO x McLaren Formula 1 Team Experience for them and a friend over the Grand Prix weekend, talk about putting fans at the heart of the action ???? The LOVE design serves as a reminder to all fans that VELO and McLaren do not put fans on the sideline, and they are entirely focused on making every Formula 1 experience a memorable one.
