Leclerc Responds To Rumours He’s Signed A Lucrative New Ferrari Contract

Posted on August 24, 2023 | by Charley Williams Very early into the summer break, there was a lot of speculation that Charles Leclerc had seemingly signed a contract extension – a good one, he admits! The 204 million euro contract was rumoured to be a 2+3 year extension after his current deal expires at the end of 2024, but unfortunately for Charles, it was just that. Rumours.  Talking to the media, including The Race at Zandvoort, he was asked about the speculation regarding his future and the reported ‘new deal’. Charles joked: “I wish I did this deal because it looked like I did a good deal!” ???? But he went on to confirm: “No, there are no new deals and no discussion whatsoever. But at one point, we’ll definitely have those discussions. I think my intentions are clear, and then on the team side, I don’t know, but I’m not too worried either. “But it’s not a priority for now, for now, we just want to try and work as much as possible on the car to get as competitive… to get back to where we were last year, which was to fight for wins. Then we’ll see. At the end of the season, we’ll have those discussions.” This wasn’t the first time Charles’ future at Ferrari has been speculated on this season, with some indicating that he may choose to leave Ferrari to enhance his chances of securing a world title. But, as ever, Leclerc continues to deny his head will be turned and insists he wants to win with Ferrari. Do you think Charles will stay with Ferrari beyond 2024? Let us know in the comments!
