Tramnitz ‘confident’ he can end 2024 season on a positive note starting in Spa

MP Motorsport driver Tim Tramnitz admits he and the team have not always capitalised on their strong pace this year. However, he is determined to put that right at Spa this weekend, aiming to end the season on a high. The German rookie made a flying start to the campaign finishing fifth in the season opening Sakhir Sprint before taking third place in the Feature Race. However, since then, while he did make two more trips to the podium in the Imola and Monte Carlo Sprint Races, finishing second in both, his and MP’s results have been inconsistent.Spa-Francorchamps Preview: One last dance before the summer break Speaking about this, Tramnitz said: “It's a bit disappointing of course. I feel like we are always saying there were a lot of things that were quite difficult but when you look at the Championship at the moment, I am P9 and second-best rookie. “Of course, that is still the goal and now I have to focus race by race even though it's just two weekends left but when I look at all the things that went wrong, I think we are still not in a bad position. “Of course, we hope for more, but as we always say the potential is always there, the pace is always there but some small things, if it's in Quali, a small mistake or a small thing that doesn't go our way completely ruins the weekend. Tramnitz is looking to build on the pace he and MP have shown“Like in Silverstone for example, with the weather chaos in Quali which we didn't handle really well. So, it's a bit disappointing but still it also shows that we are always in a good window and the speed is there if we get it right.”Looking ahead to the Spa-Francorchamps weekend, Tramnitz could not hide his delight at being back out on track at a circuit where he has had previous success. He also wants to use these few days as a chance to build on the potential they showed Budapest where he qualified seventh and finished fourth in the Sprint Race. What to Watch for: Some of the key storylines to look out for at Spa-Francorchamps“I feel good to be here, especially after some good potential last weekend in Budapest,” said Tramnitz. “I still feel like we had to get on top of a couple of things but so far so good, I'm just happy to be here and racing on this track.“I think the special thing about this track is the layout and the way the track is you can go really close to the limit and you get penalised when you go too far which is always quite exciting and pushes yourself to the limit. Tramnitz is keen to end the season on a high at Spa and Monza“It's quite technical and every corner is different so not like a certain type of corner all over the track, every corner is different which is very exciting.”Spa is the penultimate round of the 2024 season, and Tramnitz is keen to deliver on the potential that he feels he and MP have had the entire year this weekend and at Round 10 in Monza.WHAT WE LEARNED: Some of the key takeaways from Round 8 in Budapest “I think every time, everything goes normal for us, we are quite easily in the top 12 and in the reverse grid quali,” Tramnitz continued. “I think this is what we have to carry on, our Red Bull Ring performance in Quali, to get in the top five, just show that we can do it. “The speed is there, and race by race, and I think the most important thing is to enjoy it and the speed will be there. I just aim now to do the best every race, there is nothing really to lose for me, more to learn for next year and I am still confident we can do a good job in the last few races.”
